VeloRoad manages compatible plugins without restarting the whole Minecraft server. It validates a replacement before touching the running plugin, keeps the current jar in a SHA-256 verified backup, loads the new version, checks its commands and restores the previous version automatically if the deployment fails.

Requirements #

  • Spigot, Paper, Purpur or Folia, Minecraft 1.21 or newer.
  • Java 21 or newer.
  • No other plugin is required.

What it does #

  • Loads, unloads, reloads, enables and disables plugins at runtime.
  • Replaces a plugin with a backup, an integrity check and automatic rollback.
  • Handles Paper's .paper-remapped folder and versioned jar names such as Plugin-2.4.1.jar.
  • Audits the plugin folder without changing anything (/veloroad doctor).
  • Applies updates automatically from .jar.new and .jar.install files, and can stage the same update to other servers on the same machine.
  • Five editable languages: English, Turkish, Spanish, German and French.

Managed update workflow #

  1. Put the new jar in plugins/ under any filename, or name it <Plugin>.jar.new.
  2. Run /veloroad check <plugin> for a read-only compatibility preview.
  3. Run /veloroad reload <plugin>. VeloRoad identifies the plugin from its descriptor, creates and verifies a backup, replaces the live jar, enables the new version and checks the commands it registered.
  4. If loading, enabling, cache clearing or the command check fails, the previous verified version is restored when a backup exists.

If several candidate jars declare the same plugin name, the deployment is refused and the files are listed. To keep a fresh rollback point, put the replacement next to the live jar instead of overwriting it.

A full server restart is always the safest choice for critical plugins and for plugins that keep deep live references to their own classes.

Privacy #

VeloRoad includes a relocated copy of bStats Metrics 3.0.2. Metrics are enabled by default and send technical server information (software and version, Java and OS details, player count and a pseudonymous server identifier). VeloRoad adds no custom player-data charts. Turn metrics off in plugins/Veloroad/config.yml or plugins/bStats/config.yml. The bStats source is on GitHub.

Support #

Use the resource's discussion area. When reporting a deployment problem, include the output of /veloroad doctor <plugin> and the relevant console lines.
